Holidays during term time
As from 1st September 2013 the Education (Pupil Registration) (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2013 amends the 2006 Regulations and makes clear that Head Teachers may not grant leave of absence during term time unless there are exceptional circumstances.
If leave from school is unavoidable then an Absence Request Form should be completed at least a month before the date/dates requesting absence. Form obtainable from the school office. In considering requests for holidays the headteacher will consider current attendance, attainment, year group, time of year and circumstance.
While we discourage any holidays taken during term time, we appreciate that from time to time, parents are unable to take the same holiday periods as their children. This is the Leave of absence statement which gives you guidance on your child's absence.
